What a package price actually covers
Almost every Manali package quoted in India covers the same five things: the road transport from the departure city, hotel nights on the stated sharing basis, breakfast and dinner, sightseeing transport, and a coordinator. It almost never covers lunches, adventure activities, entry tickets, permits or anything you buy. When you compare two quotes, compare the exclusions — that is where the difference usually hides.
The land package
On triple sharing from Delhi, a 3N/4D group package sits around ₹12,000 per person and a 4N/5D Shimla–Manali combination around ₹11,999. A private 2N/3D couple package from Delhi is around ₹26,000 for two people together, which works out higher per head because you are paying for privacy, a private cab and a double room instead of a shared vehicle and a triple room.
Getting to the departure city
This is the part that varies most and the part no package includes. Indicative return airfares to Delhi booked three to four weeks out: Ahmedabad around ₹7,000, Mumbai around ₹8,000, Pune around ₹8,500, Hyderabad around ₹9,000, Bangalore around ₹10,000, Chennai around ₹10,500. Book earlier and these fall sharply; book inside a week and they can double.
Activities and extras
Paragliding at Solang runs from a few hundred rupees for a short hop to several thousand for a long flight. River rafting on the Beas at Pirdi is modest. Skiing lessons, ropeway tickets, snow-boot rental, ATV rides and photo stalls all add up faster than people expect. Budget ₹2,000 to ₹5,000 per person and you will not be caught out.
Where people overspend
Three places, consistently. Renting snow gear at Solang instead of in Manali town. Agreeing to activity prices after sitting in the harness or on the sledge instead of before. And booking a hotel upgrade on arrival rather than at the time of booking, when it is quoted as a fixed top-up rather than a walk-in rate.
A realistic total
From Delhi: roughly ₹15,000 to ₹18,000 per person all-in for a 3N/4D trip. From Hyderabad or Bangalore: roughly ₹23,000 to ₹27,000 per person once flights and extras are counted. Anyone quoting you dramatically less is either cutting the hotel category, cutting the vehicle, or leaving something out of the inclusions list.

How much does a Manali trip cost for a couple?

Is Manali expensive compared to other hill stations?

Are prices higher during New Year in Manali?
Substantially. Hotel rates in the last week of December can run two to three times the off-season rate, and many properties enforce compulsory gala dinner charges. If you are price-sensitive, mid-January delivers better snow at a much lower rate.
