How to reach Manali from Delhi
Volvo semi-sleeper bus
The standard choice. Buses leave Delhi between 5:30 PM and 9:00 PM and reach Manali between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Round-trip fare is bundled into our packages.
Self-drive or private cab
NH44 to Chandigarh, then NH205 through Bilaspur, Mandi and Kullu. Roughly 12 hours without stops. Fuel and tolls make this worth it only for 5 or more people.
Flight to Bhuntar
Small ATR aircraft fly Delhi–Bhuntar in about 1 hour 20 minutes when weather allows. Bhuntar is 50 km short of Manali. Cancellations are common in winter and monsoon, so keep a bus fallback.
Train + road
Shatabdi to Chandigarh in about 3 hours 30 minutes, then a 310 km, 8-hour road leg. Useful if you dislike overnight buses.
The plan we'd recommend
Leave Delhi on a Friday night bus, get two full days in the valley, and take the Sunday night bus back. You lose one working day at most.

Manali from Delhi — common questions
How many days do I need for Manali from Delhi?
Three nights and four days is the practical minimum if you travel by bus, because two of those nights are spent on the road. Delhi travellers with only a weekend usually take the Friday night bus and return Sunday night.
Which Delhi boarding point is best?
Majnu Ka Tila and Kashmere Gate ISBT have the most departures. We confirm your exact boarding point and the driver's number 24 hours before departure.
Is the Delhi–Manali road open in winter?
Yes. The Delhi–Manali highway stays open year round. What closes in winter is Rohtang Pass above Manali, which is why the Atal Tunnel route to Sissu has become the winter snow drive.
